Academy Structure
To become an academy we entered a Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State, drew up Articles of Association and undertook a Land Transfer Agreement with West Sussex County Council. We are a publically funded independent academy and are registered with Company's House and are known as a Company Limited by Guarantee. The Governing Body form the Academy Trust and they are organised into Members and Trustees.
We are required to submit our accounts and Trustee's report to Company's House annually.
The Academy Trust has a strategic role in running the academy and is responsible for appointing the trustees to Governing Body of the academy. It is the Governing Body who manage the academy on behalf of the members of the Academy Trust. Our Academy Trust has 3 members and eleven trustees and their key responsibilities are to:
- Ensure the quality of educational provision.
- Challenge and monitor the performance of the academy.
- Manage the Academy Trust's finances and property.
- Employ staff.
