Children are expected to attend the academy every day unless they are unwell.

Parents should phone the Academy Office on 01403 733254 between 8.30am and 10.30am to register an absence. On return, a written note of explanation is required and will be held for when a register check is carried out.

The academy strongly advises parents against taking children out of the academy during term time as all absences affects a child’s education. Children should attend for 190 days a year, which leaves 175 non-school days for holidays, treats and shopping.  Requests for holidays during term time will not be authorised.

On the rare occasion permission for children to be absent from the academy is needed, an Absence Request Form must be completed and returned to the academy office.   Applications will only be considered for extenuating circumstances.
